Canyoning Half-Day Itinerary
Meet at 9:30 AM or 2:00 PM at La Batie, near the old «Hunter's Restaurant»See access map), near the Jabron canyon.
Welcome of participants by experienced canyoning guides and equipment handover.
A 30-minute approach walk through a pretty pine forest leads to the Jabron canyon.
The activity begins with an introduction to abseiling techniques by the guide.
Canyoning in the Jabron
We first enter the Jabron canyon on foot, walking along its riverbed. To descend into the canyon itself, we'll do a short, easy 5m abseil. Afterwards, we'll encounter a narrow gorge, a slide down a toboggan (the «Canonnière»), a passage through a squeeze (the »chattière»), more toboggans, and various jumps into pools (of varying heights for the more or less brave)... If you fancy it, you can repeat certain activities (abseils, jumps, etc.), or test your new skills on a 15m abseil ending in a "spider's web" (suspended in mid-air), or even sample some of the guide's surprises! The less adventurous can stick to the classic route, but it's highly probable they too will enjoy the many possibilities this canyon offers.
