Canyoning Day Itinerary
Meet at 9 AM at St. André les Alpes on the Super U supermarket car park (See access map).
From there, you will follow the ABOARD Rafting guide to Colmars les Alpes, from where the latter will organise a shuttle to drop off vehicles at the canyon's arrival point. A forest track allows direct access to the canyon without any approach walk.
After equipping you, he will give a briefing on abseiling techniques and canyon safety.
Canyoning in the Lance
The Lance canyon is a wild canyon set in an alpine landscape, on the edge of Mercantour Park. The descent begins at an altitude of nearly 1600m, in the heart of a larch forest. The start of the route is predominantly aquatic, featuring jumps into large pools and slides. Subsequently, the canyon's verticality necessitates abseiling, sometimes under waterfalls, interspersed with progress through the water. A large sun-drenched slab will welcome you for a picnic break, above a pool where it is tempting to jump (and jump again). The canyon then narrows into a gorge of waterfalls, navigated by abseiling and jumps (up to 12m), before reaching the great Lance waterfall, the end point of the descent. A short 15-minute walk will bring us back to the vehicles left in the morning.
